Jay Groovara is a singer songwriter and improvisationalist from Southern England. He has been writing original material and performing for several years now, gigging across the Uk, Ireland and the United States.
Of particular note is his ability to come up with a song based on audience suggestions. Give him three ideas and they will give you a narrative in song. It might not be the next Justin Bieber hit but it will be something you can call your own. "The song writing process comes very easily to me…" States Jay. "improvisation is really just an extension of that art in its purest form"

And in other news, musician, singer songwriter & percussionist
Tyler "Fitall Castro" is helping Jay out this summer, filling in on drums.
'Its been a dream come true!' Stated Tyler, after Jay spotted him performing at a Punk Festival held at The Albert in Portsmouth earlier this year in March.
'Tylers a very intuitive musician' Said JG. 'And when I mentioned having drummer problems he simply volunteered.'

DUET STATUS
Currently Jays backing group (JGB) has been streamlined to a duet (JGD).
'I've simply had too many headaches with musicians of late ' Said Jay. 'Trying to get four tired blokes in one room at the same time for a rehearsal, now gives me heart palpitations. Not to mention trying to get them all to turn up to my gigs. So for the moment I'm having a break from all that. I just wana get on and gig and do something simpler, just my guitar, vocals and drums.'
But what about the bass I hear you cry!
'I kinda got that covered' Said Jay. 'I play drop-A for that extra bass oomph, plus I've adapted my guitar with two out-put jack sockets, so I can split the guitar signal and plug it into a guitar amp and a bass amp at the same time!'

Outstanding! But surely a duet is going to struggle without a bassist?
'No not really' Said Jay. 'Plenty of duets have gotten by, just look at The White Stripes, Royal Blood and The Black Keys. They're all just duets, with drums, guitar and vocal. But yeah, playing guitar solos without a bass is bit of a challenge. But its either that or we wait around for a suitable bassist, which could take forever ! Meanwhile we were losing out on gigs, so we simply had to crack on as a duet - and so far it seems to be working quite nicely'
