Jay Groovara is a singer songwriter and improvisationalist from Southern England. He has been writing original material and performing for several years now, gigging across the Uk, Ireland and the United States.
Of particular note is his ability to come up with a song based on audience suggestions. Give him three ideas and they will give you a narrative in song. It might not be the next Justin Bieber hit but it will be something you can call your own. "The song writing process comes very easily to me…" States Jay. "improvisation is really just an extension of that art in its purest form"
ALBUM PULLED FROM SPOTIFY !!
After several years of hiatus, Jay Groovara's Album " Zombie Land" finally landed on Spotify in 2024. (stubb is HERE)
However despite being distributed on various major platforms (such as Spotify) the album failed miserably to make any impact. Lukewarm reviews and lack of sales have ultimately led to the album being taken down by Jay Groovara himself.
"Why the hell am I paying CD Baby (the distributor) for not doing anything?" said Jay in a recent interview with himself. "All they did was dump the album on a bunch of platforms such as Spotify and You Tube with no introduction and zero context!"
Luke warm and mixed reviews didn't help matters.
"Part of me liked the thrown-together nature of it" stated music fan Dolphin Feathers. "although the lyrics drove me nuts – way too much repetition. An ok listen but it won’t be making it onto any of my playlists. 5/10"
Similar reviews only confirmed that this album sucks ass.
Plan B will consist of a complete album overhaul and junking everything and starting over. The only song that will remain is the popular Corona Zombies track but the rest will have to go.
"The problem was (the album) lacked consistency" stated Jay. "I had a whole bunch of surf rock zombie tracks I kinda forgot to add to the album at the time of release. Hopefully I can fix that now "
As for the eleven tracks to be culled these songs will likely be released as a separate album.
And with a little luck "Zombie Land 2:0 " (planned for re-release on Weekend Offender Records )- will hopefully be out before the end of 2026.
NEW BAND LINE-UP
So out with the old etc. Drummer Marty Devaney completes the new Jay Groovara line-up for 2026.
After some scrabbling to find said line-up, Jay found drummer Marty Devaney on the Facebook drummer forums.
'Dude! I got gigs coming up and I need a new drummer!'
'No problemo' Says Marty, sticks at the ready.
Shweet! Onwards and upwards.
